Join us Sundays at 10.15am
Now that you’ve found us online, we’d love to meet you in person!
Our Sunday gatherings are an important part of our week - a time when we can come together to learn how to live like Jesus, to spend time in worship to God; through songs, prayer and scripture, and to get to know each other better over a coffee.
We believe that Sundays are an essential part of church life, but they alone are not sufficient. How we gather helps to teach us how we should live our lives when we scatter throughout the week. At Church on the Weald we are a community that values and encourages contribution over consumerism. Our services aren’t just something we attend or do; the church isn't a building or an event. Put simply, we are a people, the body of Christ. We are sinners saved by grace.
What to expect
Where are you located?
We meet from 10.15am every Sunday at Tenterden Junior School. If you drive into the first gate on the right as you head towards the leisure centre, you will see our signs to direct you where to park, and then to where we meet.
We also meet in smaller groups across the Weald throughout the week. Although we gather on Sundays in Tenterden, our vision is to serve village communities across the region.
What about my children?
Your children and young people are a priority at Church on the Weald. We have a kids group (4-11 years) which takes place during the second part of the morning, and our youth (11-18 years) get together every other week during this time, and at other times socially throughout the month.
We don't ever want you to feel pressure to keep your children quiet - we believe they are important to Jesus and therefore they are very important to us too! We also have a creche room with toys available for babies and toddlers to use throughout the morning, with a live feed of the Sunday talk so you can listen in.
What kind of a church are you?
We are a non-denominational Christian church, full of people who unashamedly love Jesus. We are Bible believing and spirit-filled. You can find out more about what we believe here.
We enjoy spending time together throughout the week in different ways; whether we're gathering to talk, learn, listen, eat, pray, sing - we are always trying to get to know each other better and help each other grow in faith.
Can anyone visit on a Sunday?
Yes! One of the best ways to get to know us better is to come along to one of our Sunday gatherings - everyone is welcome!
We understand that turning up to a church (or any place for that matter) can feel a little daunting, but we hope that you will find our church family warm and friendly.
Who is the church for?
We are so thankful that Church on the Weald is made up of people from various backgrounds, cultures and walks of life. Our congregation truly spans the ages, from newborns to folks in their later years. You’ll find just about every type of person here – married, single, divorced, widowed – professionals, workers, retired – from those who are new to Christianity to others who have walked in their faith for a while.
But even more important than the kind of people who meet here is the kind of people who are welcome here – everyone!
